Day 14

I received another marriage proposal today. This one was from a taxi driver. He couldn’t give Kari change when she paid him for driving us, so he offered to take me instead. Kari politely told him no—he could just keep the change.

For the first part of the day I helped Kari and Jonathan shop for a new house. Most of the houses and apartments here are actually pretty big, and they usually have more bedrooms than houses in the US. In the US houses typically have a kitchen, living room, dining room, maybe an office, and a few bedrooms. Here the kitchens are small, and there is one living room and about 3 or 4 bedrooms and bathrooms. Later in the afternoon Kari and I ate lunch at a restaurant called Le Récif. The coolest thing about the restaurant is that it is located right on the western-most tip of Africa!
Standing at the western-most tip of Africa
America is that way
